Skiing

Overlooking Georgetown Lake, Discovery Ski Area, just 30 miles northwest of Fairmont, is ideally suited to all levels of skiing. Discovery features 1 triple chairlift, 3 double-chairlifts and 1 pony lift. Cafeteria, bar, ski rentals and sales, ski instruction and a Kinderski-program for kids -ages 3 to 6- make Discovery an ideal family ski area. Discovery has more than 32 runs with 360 acres of skiing on the Deer Lodge National Forest. Discovery is open daily 9:30 am to 4:00 pm Thanksgiving through early April, weather permitting. Cross Country Skiing

5 km of groomed trails, many more miles of ungroomed trails near Discovery Basin. Within minutes of Fairmont is the Mt. Haggin cross country ski area with 17 km of groomed trails, featuring both telemark and parallel terrain.

Snowmobiling

Over 90 miles of groomed snowmobile trails in the Georgetown Lake system, tucked away in the solitude of the Pintlar Wilderness.
