Clark Fork River – Just 15 miles north of the resort, the upper Clark Fork River can be a dry fly paradise, with blizzard hatches of Caddis June – August. Brown trout dominate the river, though some unusually large rainbow trout can be found in the upper reaches near Warm Springs. For more information, click here:

Georgetown Lake - Locacated 25 miles west of Fairmont, Georgetown Lake is a popular recreation area for fishing, boating and windsurfing. It is a large (2,818 acres), high (6,337 feet in elevation) mountain lake. The lake is surrounded by the Flint Creek Range to the north and the Pintlers to the south. At Georgetown Lake rainbow trout is the primary sport fishery. The Lake has four public boat ramps and shore access is very good. In winter, Georgetown Lake is used for ice fishing and snowmobiling.  For more information, click here: 

Big Hole River - One of Montana’s “Blue Ribbon” trout streams, the Big Hole is a world class trout fishery and a local favorite. Just 30 miles from Fairmont, the Big Hole River offers outstanding fishing access for both wading and floating anglers alike. Rainbow and brown trout dominate the the river, though whitefish and the very rare arctic grayling can also be caught. For more information click here: 

Rock Creek - Another “Blue Ribbon” trout fishery, Rock creek is located approximately 40 miles west of Fairmont. A more remote experience, Rock Creek has populations of brown, cutthroat and rainbow trout. Hatches of stoneflys in June, and caddis and mayflies through the summer. Fishing access is good for both wading and floating anglers, though the river is very challenging to float and shouldn’t be attempted by inexperienced floaters. Jefferson River  - Located 40 miles east of Fairmont, the Jefferson River offer opportunities for large brown trout and rainbow trout. Fishing access is good for both wading and floating anglers. This river was a primary rout of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. For more information, click here: 

Beaverhead River – The third local “Blue Ribbon” trout stream, the Beaverhead River, is located 69 miles south of Fairmont. The Beaverhead River is world famous for its large brown and rainbow trout. Fishing access is good for wading and floating anglers. Hatches of caddis and mayflies occur throughout the summer, though fishing is done primarily with small nymphs.
